    把LEXUS LS拆解開來研究,HONDA新Legend配置FR+V8

已經確定退出F1賽事並中止S2000、NSX新世代開發計畫的HONDA,雖然於2008年底喊出朝小型Hybrid車款前進,但對於其他乘用車的研發卻沒有停止,只不過腳步稍微放慢些,就如頂級旗艦的Legend開發計畫,HONDA就延至2011年第一季才會推出,且為了與同級對手相抗衡,除了採用FR驅動與V8引擎外,更將LEXUS LS完全拆解探究其中奧妙之處。

雖然HONDA Legend在1980年代掛上ACURA廠徽在北美市場造成轟動,然而在TOYOTA於當地推出LEXUS LS400(日規版就是當時的Celsior)後,銷售成績便受到非常大影響,縱使現行款Legend搭載SH-AWD驅動系統,但仍是以FF驅動為基礎,且動力心臟仍為3.5升V6引擎,和LEXUS LS的V8實在有很大懸殊,為此HONDA在開發新一代Legend時就買了多輛LEXUS LS,將零件一一拆解研究,因此原廠代號2RF的新Legend就在HONDA開發中心逐步誕生中。

根據瞭解新Legend將一掃過去FF的驅動模式,改採高級車的FR,並配上SH-AWD四輪驅動系統,底盤平台則與原本開發中的新NSX共用,動力心臟則是排氣量高達4.5-5.0升的V8引擎,估計最大馬力可能超過350hp。

然而受到金融海嘯和虧損影響,新Legend的計畫似乎有些延遲,雖然HONDA放話有意中止整個計畫,然而以2011年才要問世的時間點來看,全球景氣在那時當可復甦,等級全面提升後的新Legend應該有更多有利條件和對手一較高下。
