    日本名車系列(5)-HONDA N360

以發動機起家的HONDA,算是日本最晚進入四輪事業的廠商,雖然1963年的小跑車S500深受好評,但這卻非大眾車,因此在1967年推出N360,結果讓HONDA從此在四輪工業立足。

1967年以當時幣值313000日圓低價問市的N360,是HONDA創立以來第一款大眾乘用車,在短短數月間銷售長紅,並一舉拉下60年代銷售冠軍車款SUBARU 360,成為日本輕型車的新盟主,最主要除了寬敞的空間外,強調性能的動力也是一大賣點。

在50-60年代的日本輕型車,多採用二行程雙缸引擎,但HONDA卻一掃這種設計,改以四行程雙缸SOHC變成N360的心臟,這也是日本第一款搭載這種引擎的車款。

排氣量為354cc的N360,使用一具直四空冷雙缸SOHC四行程引擎,最大輸出功率為31hp/8500rpm、3.0kgm/5500rpm,配上四速手排和475公斤的車身,擁有115km/h的極速,在當時已經突破輕型車格局,因此獲的消費者青睞。而2995×1295×1345mm的車身和長達2000mm軸距,車身雖小但內部空間卻非常寬敞,足以輕易容納四名乘員,這也符合日本的家庭結構,因此購買此車者多為小家庭。

1968年為了輸出至歐洲市場,還推出排氣量更大、功率輸出更強的N600,車體尺寸也相對長大;1971年全面停產的N360,等於是替日後世界車Civic鋪路,而如果沒有N360,或許HONDA永遠也無法進軍大眾乘用車領域。
