    日本名車系列(88)-HONDA Integra(1989)

為了填補Civic與Accord空缺,HONDA於1980年推出Quint車型,爾後在1985年變成Quint Integra,是以家庭訴求為考量,然而將Integra從Quint車系獨立出來,則是1989年的事情了。

原本在HONDA的規劃中,Quint Integra共有三門掀背、五門掀背與四門房車三種型態,然而在1989年第三代車型裡,卻將最不受歡迎的五門掀背車型取消,僅保留四門和三門兩種造型,而冠上Quint名稱的Integra,似乎無法突顯跑車個性化的定位,HONDA為了作出區隔,決定讓Integra從整個產品線中獨立出來,並捨棄Quint車型,當然另一個主因,是Integra掛上ACURA品牌後在北美大受歡迎,為了延續知名度,原廠才做出這樣的決定。

外型俊美的第三代Integra,三門掀背車身尺碼為4390×1695×1325mm,四門則為4480×1695×1340mm,軸距則前者為2550mm,後者為2600mm,也因此分別造就不同的最大迴轉半徑:5.0和5.1公尺。無窗框車門為Integra最大特徵(四門車型前後均無窗框),這種類似跑車化的設計,更加突顯Integra的個性;而一反傳統霧燈置於前保險桿上的設計,第三代Integra將霧燈與車頭燈組整合。

動力上,第三代Integra共有三種排氣量的VTEC引擎,分別為B16A 1595cc直四DOHC(160hp/7600rpm、15.5kgm/7000rpm)、ZC 1590cc直四SOHC(120hp/6300rpm、14.5kgm/5500rpm)、DB1 1834cc直四DOHC(130hp/6300rpm、16.5kgm/4000rpm)三種設定,五速手排和四速自排可依需求做選擇,而底盤懸吊更從前麥弗遜、後拖曳臂提升為四輪雙A臂,因此在操控與舒適性均有所提升。而內裝上以跑車化為主,兩張桶型座椅更是受到矚目。

也由於Integra的成功,讓HONDA在1993年再推第四代車型,結果卻因為四圓燈造型太過可愛,故又逼得在小改款時將頭燈組改回長條狀。
