    日本名車系列(93)-HONDA Today(1985)

自從Life與Z在1974年於日本停產後,HONDA就未曾再踏入輕型車市場,直到1985年九月,HONDA推出全新Today後,才開啟日後在輕型車領域的大門。

有著「Tall Boy」暱稱的Today,宛如縮小版的City,最主要是兩個碩大的圓型頭燈太過搶眼,且高車頂的設計可是當時日本輕型車首創,這種類似RV的概念也影響日後輕型車的發展路線。雖然Today的身材為3195×1395×1315mm,2330mm的軸距僅能容納四名乘員,但1315mm的高度可是當時同級車最低,且低底盤設計有助於乘員上下車的便利性。另外原廠還推出Type G,內部空間只有兩張座椅,後方則規劃成置物空間,可算是輕型商用車的先驅。

動力上初期只有一具直二SOHC單化油器545cc引擎,最大輸出馬力與扭力分別是31hp/5500rpm、4.4kgm/4000rpm,並與四速手排與兩速組合,爾後提升為直三SOHC的12氣門噴射引擎,功率增加為42hp/8000rpm、4.6kgm/4500rpm,且還增加三速HONDA Matic自排給車主選擇。至於底盤懸吊,仍為前麥弗遜、後拖曳臂結構。

1988年二月進行小改款,原本的可愛圓燈被長條狀給取代,同時也修改前保險桿氣壩、輪圈、車身飾條造型,且為了提升戰力,更增添罕見的電動天窗,而內裝鋪陳也變得更為成熟。直到1993年,第一代Today任務終了,後繼者仍稱為Today,並擁有更現代感的造型和動力配置。
